Carradales – Kintyre Way. Luxury Accommodation. Walkers Welcome

Our Blog

The Kintyre Way was formed in 2006 and is 161km long along the length of the Kintyre peninsula. You will undoubtedly feel free and relaxed away from the madness of the cities and be at peace while experiencing this area at its very best. You can explore the hidden coves, little fishing villages and the wonderful and beautiful wildlife like otters, seals, seabirds, eagles and even a basking shark.

Whilst there are all types of accommodation, Carradales is luxury accommodation and a former Victorian manse and stands out as being Kintyre’s only 5 Star VisitScotland Guest house.

We welcome walkers and are part of the VisitScotland Walkers Welcome Scheme.

Here you can rest your weary body in style and relax in a hot bath enjoying the local Kintyre Gin. You can be sure that a warm welcome awaits you from us in this lovingly restored former Victorian manse. You will be able to experience Steve’s culinary creations and feel totally invigorated if and when you decide to leave and continue your walk.

One of the sections starts from Tayinloan and goes through wondrous forests and coastal paths with views to Arran and down to Carradale.

One stage from Carradale to Campbeltown goes through beautiful coastal bays farmland forestry tracks and finally Campbeltown.

It is with a heavy heart and deep regret that we announce the closure of Carradales.

The relentless pressures and challenges of the hospitality industry have finally taken their toll, making it impossible for us to continue.

Of course, it goes without saying that current bookings will be honoured.

We would like to thank all our local, UK and international guests and suppliers for their support.

With all best wishes

Maurice and Steve
