The Queen’s Platinum Pudding Competition

Our Blog

One of the ways in which Carradales is to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee is to take part in a nationwide baking competition which sets out to find a brand new pudding dedicated to The Queen. The Big Jubilee Lunch and Fortnum & Mason are inviting applications from UK residents aged 8 and over. Carradales have tried to create the perfect Platinum Pudding recipe using local ingredients including Kintyre Gin.

Five finalists will prepare their pudding for an expert judging panel including Dame Mary Berry, Monica Galetti and Buckingham Palace Head Chef Mark Flanagan. The winning recipe will be made available to the public and the pudding will be enjoyed at Big Jubilee Lunches during the Jubilee weekend, and by generations to come. Best of luck Carradales.

Chef, Steve Reed from Carradales has put forward his own Royal version of his renowned Kintyre Gin and Lemon Posset. This unique and very special Royal dessert can be enjoyed during The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend.

It is with a heavy heart and deep regret that we announce the closure of Carradales.

The relentless pressures and challenges of the hospitality industry have finally taken their toll, making it impossible for us to continue.

Of course, it goes without saying that current bookings will be honoured.

We would like to thank all our local, UK and international guests and suppliers for their support.

With all best wishes

Maurice and Steve
